 RP Group Listservs

Stay connected with professionals in your field through an RP Group listserv.

Our listservs are robust resources that facilitate knowledge-sharing among California Community College leaders; researchers and planners; and student learning outcome and assessment practitioners — on issues, methodologies, tools, effective practices, relevant studies, and other useful resources to aid in student and college success.

Safe Harbor allows subscribers to pose questions anonymously. Just email your query and it will be re-posted (verbatim or paraphrased and in line with listserv guidelines) by one of our team members.

The main purpose of the RP Listserv is to foster collaborative knowledge-sharing and community-building that strengthens our subscribers’ ability to carry out their role in supporting data-informed decision-making at our institutions and across the California Community College (CCC) system.

We encourage users to engage in dialogue and pose questions about their work, various research, data, and methodologies, and technology-related items that support institutional research, planning, and effectiveness (IRPE) professionals in their work. We also encourage people to share resources they find useful, including examples of college solutions to challenges, innovations, and web resources to support IRPE professionals.

The RP Group and its Board members play a central role in supporting IRPE professionals across the CCC system. While we endeavor to monitor your posts closely for information requests that we can help satisfy, and will reply offering guidance when possible and where appropriate, we are not always directly involved in policy decisions affecting the system. In these cases, or in those that require any correction be made to information, a designated RP Group Board member will respond.

We want all subscribers to feel welcome, safe, and respected, and to find this platform fruitful.

To help us foster a collaborative, resourceful environment, the RP Group requests that all subscribers read and adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Feel comfortable to ask questions, offer solutions and contribute to the health of the conversation.

  • Please strongly keep in mind that any public communication, even subscriber or member-based platforms such as a listserv, is subject to further exposure (i.e., can be forwarded to non-subscribers).

  • Please refrain from disrespectful commentary. In cases where a post specifically "calls out" an organization or college, we ask the individual to consider ways to make the point without distancing our partners, paying attention to professionalism, perspective, and tone.

  • Please exercise caution when using humor and sarcasm.

  • Please share content on the listserv with others only in the spirit of collaboration — or with the explicit permission of the original author.

  • Please include your full name, job title, organization name, and email address.

  • Since large documents do not always go through, we recommend sharing links instead of attachments, when possible.

  • Do not use the listserv for advertising, product-related press releases, or other commercial use, though members may occasionally share announcements of non-commercial conferences, publications, and other resources of general interest.

  • Do not use language or content that is, including, but not limited to, unlawful, harassing, abusive, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, pornographic, or profane.

Subscribers may be contacted privately if they infringe upon these guidelines, and/or are otherwise disrupting the collaborative nature and intent of the listserv. Those who must be contacted repeatedly may be removed.

The opinions expressed on the RP Listserv are those of individual subscribers and not necessarily those of their institutions, nor of the RP Group. The RP Group is not responsible for the opinions expressed on any list.
